Ezra Michel is a Mexican-American transmasculine artist, designer, musician, actor, and content creator based in Mexico City. Across clothing, music, and video, his work searches for the balance between being completely in your face and quietly revealing something more vulnerable underneath.

In 2020, Ezra released his first single, “Man of My Dreams,” a love song to the person he had grown up to become. The song found an audience within transmasculine TikTok, where people used it to make videos celebrating their transitions. It received more than 200,000 Spotify streams within its first year.

Ezra later founded the transmasculine indie-pop band The Pussyboys, whose 2024 single and music video “Dumb Boy Energy” became the band’s biggest release.

Ezra has hosted NYC Youth Pride and Trans Pride LA, performed at Pride celebrations across the country, and appeared as Andrés in Telemundo’s 100 días para enamorarnos, becoming the network’s first openly transmasculine actor. In 2019, he performed alongside Alexandra Billings in I’m Still Queer: A Trans American Cabaret, benefiting the USC acting scholarship established in her name. In 2022, Ezra was selected for the 2023 Forbes 30 Under 30 Music list.

In 2022, Ezra founded Pussyboy Apparel, a clothing brand born from his desire to approach transmasculinity, bottom dysphoria, and the body with humor rather than shame. The brand transforms language that once felt painful into something playful, provocative, and wearable. Each design is an extension of the same instinct that drives the rest of his work: make something funny enough to invite people in, then let another layer reveal itself.

At the heart of Ezra’s work is a fascination with his own story and the strange, funny experience of being a person. Creating tangible evidence of who he is helps him understand himself, release control over how he is perceived, and remember his humanity. If that work helps somebody else feel less alone, even better.
